To do similar mapping:
- Get this html code -- rinkmaps.html -- plus:
- rinkmaps.xml ~~ provides address info
- sidepanel.xsl ~~ formatting for sidepanel addresses
- directions.xsl ~~ formatting for pop up locators with pull down menu
- directions.js ~~ code for pop up locators with pull down menu
- Create an xml file with your addresses, similar to "rinkmaps.xml" listed above. You'll need the latitude and longitude for each point. You can do this manually, looking up addresses someplace like: GPS Visualizer, but it's much easier to use the search2xml converter at rancidbacon.com. Put the street, city, state addresses in the location boxes. The description boxes don't appear to do anything, so I wouldn't bother. It will return an xml file.
- Edit xml file to put in titles, change to "A","B",... icons, etc.
- Change reference in html line " _loadXmlFileFromURL("rinkmaps.xml", myMapApp);" to point to your xml file.
- Change titles, contact info, _mSiteName, etc. of html file to your values. Change stylesheets to your preferences.
